Hyundai Elevator‘Safety Zone Certification Plaque’
- Chungju Smart Campus passes evaluations in all categories, with its self-directed safety system recognized for excellence-
Hyundai Elevator's Chungju Smart Campus has been awarded the Safety Zone Certification, a corporate voluntary safety assessment program supervised by the National Fire Agency and administered by the Korea Safety Certification Institute.
Serving as the Company's principal manufacturing x-x-base in Korea as well as its corporate headquarters, the Chungju Smart Campus is a smart factory with an automation rate of approximately 80%, equipped with advanced technologies including an AI Vision platx-x-form, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT). Spanning 172,759㎡, the campus is home to approximately 600 employees working in its R&D Center, Sheet x-x-metal Plant, Assembly Plant, Logistics Center, and Hyundai Asan Tower.
The Company expanded the scope of the Safety Zone Certification from selected areas of the Chungju Smart Campus to the entire campus following the completion of Hyundai Asan Tower, its elevator test tower.
Through specialized assessments in each evaluation area, including preliminary inspections and on-site evaluations conducted since January, the Chungju Smart Campus was recognized for being managed in accordance with the standards of a voluntary safety management system. In particular, with the Safety Support Office, the Company's organization responsible for disaster and accident response, playing a central role, the campus received outstanding evaluations for △ Operation of the Smart Integrated Control Center, △ Management of fire protection facilities, △ Proactive disaster prevention capabilities, and △ Maintenance of its voluntary safety management system.
"Providing a safe workplace is both our fundamental responsibility to protect the lives and property of our employees and the foundation of sustainable management," a Hyundai Elevator spokesperson said. "We will continue to proactively identify and mitigate potential workplace risks while further strengthening our voluntary safety management system through close communication with our employees."
The Safety Zone Certification comprehensively evaluates 125 assessment criteria across seven categories, including △ Safety Management and Building Disaster Prevention under the Passive System, △ Fire Safety, Hazardous Materials Safety, and Facility Safety under the Active System, △ Facility Perx-x-formance Testing under the Spot Test category, and △ New Technologies and Facility Improvements under the Safety Enhancement category. Upon certification, organizations are exempt from comprehensive fire protection facility inspections and are excluded from fire safety investigations.
