Hyundai Elevator Leads Training Teenagers..

2021-12-14
- The company sponsors 29,000,000 won to twenty-nine high schoolers in the village where its office is located

Hyundai Elevator (CEO Song Seung-bong) announced on the 14th that they are sponsoring 29,000,000 won to twenty-nine high schoolers who train amidst difficult conditions.
The recipients of the scholarship total to twenty-nine. Ten each are in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, and Chungju, Chungcheongbuk-do, and two are in Cheonan, each a region where the company holds its business. Two are in a children’s welfare center in Yeoju where the company has a companionship. Five are in Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, where the company has signed a partnership with the village.
Hyundai Elevator has operated a social contribution fund since 2009 to carry out their corporate social responsibilities and train local talents. The financial source is from a matching grant, where less than 1,000 won from employee salaries are collected and the company contributes the same amount as the collection in funding.
Hyundai Elevator’s Matching Grand Scholarship Project started with six students in 2009. It has since helped a total of 241 students with 237,000,000 won. The students selected for the scholarship have been invited each year to the company headquarters for a tour and scholarship ceremony, but this year’s event is attended by a minimal number of relevant locals due to COVID-19.
CEO Song Seung-bong said, “It is a small scholarship. I hope teenagers who need it will continue to drive their ambitions such as guitar, teaching, or makeup artistry regardless of challenges the COVID pandemic may present.
