Hyundai Elevator releases new product N:EX

Starting this February, Hyundai Elevator (CEO Song Seung-bong) will begin the sales of its new product N:EX first in the Korean market. It incorporates contactless technology including the smartphone “Bluetooth tagging” (for residential buildings) and the “Motion Call Button” (for commercial buildings) that calls for an elevator through motion detection without having to make physical contact with a button.

?The Bluetooth tagging to be incorporated in residential buildings is a technology that enables the calling and moving of an elevator through tagging without the need for physical contact. This technology can be enabled by installing a smartphone application (H-Mobile Thru) and registering the resident’s floor of destination. The “Motion Call Button” that is incorporated into commercial buildings by default calls for an elevator through motion detection such as hand movements without the need for physical contact.

?Previously in October, Hyundai Elevator pioneered the market for contactless technology by presenting the “Motion Call Button” that minimizes contact within the shared spaces of an elevator and the “Clean Moving Solution” that reduces the dissemination of pollutants. After its release, the Motion Call Button won orders for the Hyundai Premium Outlet Space 1 (Namyangju-si, Gyeonggi-do) and the luxury New Star Apartment (新星公館) currently under development in Dalian’s East Harbor International Trade District in China. To add on, the technology recently secured a contract for the 2407-household apartment complex Sujain The ESTIGE in Gosan-jigu, Uijeongbu-si.

?CEO Song Seung-bong stated, “the market is changing at a fast pace with COVID-19 increasing the awareness for hygiene in shared spaces and the elevator becoming the standard for enhancing the quality of a building from a mere method of travel,” and added, “through the incorporation of new technology and amalgamation of IT, we will provide distinctive products to further establish the “New Normal” of elevators.”

?The new product N:EX is designed in three types under the theme of nature including Strong Black, Brilliant Bronze, and Natures Green, each representing stones, trees, and grasslands. With the belt that substitutes the rope, the lifespan is extended two to three times, and the oil-free system fulfills an environment-friendly elevator. N:EX is also equipped with a HEPA filter anion air purifier to maintain a clean and pleasant indoor environment.
