On the 13th, Hyundai Elevator (CEO Seung-bong Song) visited the flood-affected areas in Chungju-si and donated a total of KRW 300 million worth of relief goods, of which half was donated to Chungcheongbuk-do and the other half to Chungju-si.

The employees of Hyundai Elevator who visited Haengjeong Village and Judong Village in Eomjeong-myeon, Chungju-si, worked diligently to clean soil sediments and damaged trees from the landslide, even mobilizing excavators and dump trucks.

Due to this year’s heavy rain, a total of 2,800 ha (hectare) of farmland and 829 houses were flooded in Chungcheongbuk-do, which led to a total of 1,500 disaster victims and residents temporarily evacuating the area. In particular, the city of Chungju-si was severely damaged and designated as a special disaster zone.

CEO Song “expressed words of consolation to those in Chungcheongbuk-do and Chungju-si who were affected by the unprecedented monsoon season.” He added that, “as a corporate citizen, Hyundai Elevator will share the pain with residents of the region and provide assistance for complete recovery as soon as possible.”

Hyundai Elevator is currently working to relocate its headquarters to the Fifth Industrial Complex of Chungju-si by the year 2022.
